I'm currently using a pin view in one of my app and am running into an issue where the user has to first unlock phone, then navigate to the app and then unlock the app with a pin code. I know it works, but I would like the security (let the user in/lock out of the app) to be resolved faster.

I know that android uses a swipe gesture across dots, which seems to work faster than iPhone's pin screen.

My question is: what (faster) alternatives to the in-app pin screen are there to secure an iPhone app?

I'm using it with WordPress on this site.

It displays in the header and works fine on desktop browsers, but on iphone when the menu is closed there is a brief flicker where the menu items show again for less than a second (without some of the formatting.)

Sometimes it doesn't seem to happen.

A weird thing is that in my code I have the anchor tag once:

First and foremost I apologize if this question is not programmer per-se but I've been trying to get some details as to why I'm having this particular problem.

When you view this page on your phone http://www.wilsontireandservice.com/mobile.aspx I would like it when you bookmark a site to your menu it shows up as an icon. On droid phones this was fairly easy to do by just adding this link in the markup:

Which is placed inside the skin.ascx file.

However, when trying to do this on an iPhone, I can't seem to get the thing to work. the Icon file is 57x57. I've tried changing the name (Icon.png, apple_touch_icon.png, apple-touch-icon.png), I tried moving the image changing the path to the root folder instead. I placed it inside an HTML module set to repeat on all pages in the header (under settings) with no luck.

We are currently running DNN 5 if it matters, what I'm wondering is there some kind of restriction on doing this within DNN or my version too out of date (we're moving to DNN 6 over the summer), or maybe this has nothing to do with DNN at all.

I open UIPopoverController popover with UITableViewController as it's content view controller.

Popover has the proper size, and it's content view at first glance adjusts correct, but if I try to scroll inside popover, it scrolls, though it shouldn't. Seems that the content view becomes about 20 px higher after -(void)viewDidAppear (pic 1, 2). What do I do to check sizes:

At this point the size is correct, and it's equals to the size of popover. After popover is opened it's inner size without margins is 66 px (measured with the help of Ruler app). So, it seems that it should fit exactly to the size of content view. But unexpected vertical scrolling appears somehow.

Than, if I add 20 px to the height of popover, [mOptionPopoverController setPopoverContentSize:(CGSize){200, 86}]; than it's content view also increases and fits as expected, without any scrollers. Only issue is that I don't need empty 20 px at the bottom of popover (pic. 3).

I made a small test project to reproduce my problem. Here is the important code:

FRC's delegate methods work perfectly and everything is nice, but my cells have custom backgrounds that depend on the position of the cell: 1. on top of the UITableView (background with rounded corners on top) 2. in the middle (background with no rounded corners) 3. on the bottom (background with rounded corners on the bottom) 4. single cell (all corners are rounded). In my cell configuration method I calculate a position of the cell and I'm setting an appropriate background view to it. Everything works fine, but there is a problem in the implementation of FRC's delegate method:

As you can see it is completely common, but there is one issue: If the cell gets inserted to the top of UITableView, its configuration method (cellForRowAtIndexPath) gets called and it draws correctly (with rounded top corners) but the cell that is under it (that was previously on the top) remains with rounded top corners and I need to redraw it somehow.

Is there a way to turn an iPod/iPhone into a bluetooth proxy so that I can connect another phone to it via bluetooth and stream music through it? e.g. I have an iPod touch hooked up via USB to an iPod specific speaker system all the time and I simply connect my android phone via bluetooth to the iPod and stream music from my phone, through the iPod, to the speakers.

I want to start developing something like this, but I just found out that apple charges $100/year to do development on a real device instead of the simulator (which I can't use to test bluetooth functionality).

So far, all of the example programs I've seen have been about connecting the iPod to something else. I would like the connection to be initiated from the other device.

So, before I lose $100 trying this out, I would like to know if you all think this is feasible with the current iOS bluetooth and audio stream APIs as this would be my first foray into iOS' world of objective C.

Mobile Music Player). I only have a retina device, but also need the artwork for non-retina devices as my app still supports older devices.

2. Allow the app to read the system lang (and the app cannot change it). so to change the lang for the app, one should go to change the lang of the system.

1. In all cases, my app will detect user's lang and use it on first install, I am asking about subsequent uses.

I'm currently trying to integrate Millennial Media with Admob Mediation so I can display its interstitial ads on my iPhone app. Everything is working OK and I'm able to display the test ad (my app hasn't been approved yet), but when I close an ad, interstitialDidDismissScreen is not being triggered. "exportSession SUCCESS" is reported, and the exported file exists and can be played, but it only contains the first of the constituent files.

I'm working on a project which needs to run on ios 4.1 upwards, supporting iOS device with camera. Until I installed Xcode 4.4 everything went well, and I can test app on iphone 3gs and 4s. After I installed Xcode 4.4 I was unable to test app on iphone 3gs, and everytime I try to do it, xcode shows me that message: - Could not lauch "appname". timed out for app to lauch -

I am trying to build an IPA file for my app in view of some ad-hoc enterprise distribution. I have been looking at how to do this with Xcode 4.3.2, the version I am using at present, and I reached the point where in the organiser I should select the 'Save for Enterprise or ad-hoc deployment' option. The problem is that this option does not actually appear in the first place. In fact, I only have the 'Save Built Products' and 'export as Xcode archive' options.

I would imagine the issue lies in some configuration settings for my app, but have been unable to find any help over the web. Hence my question here :-) Would appreciate some help in understanding what is wrong with my code.

How can I achieve this? I've tried:

I'm rendering a UIWebView's layer into a graphics context and then using the UIGraphicsBeginPDFPageWithInfo() family of functions to include it in a PDF.

My problem is that the output includes an extra set of gray lines that aren't part of my data set. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on where they're coming from.

An example of the output is included below. The HTML document that is being rendered contains nothing but the text 'THIS IS A TEST' - the boxes you see are coming from the rendering process somewhere. When rendered on the screen, it's just black text on a white screen - no lines/boxes.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on? Thanks!

I set an images for button's states Normal,Highlighted and Selected, but when the button in selected state and I press/highlight it I didn't see my highlighted image but just grayed picture. Is it possible to set an image for highlighted state when the button selected?

my code:

What pixels per inch settings do iOS 4 graphics need to be to support the high resolution display? Should I just use the standard 72, or should I specifically make images that are 320x480@163ppi and 640x960@326ppi? Or, should I just make images those dimensions and not worry about the resolution (i.e. leave it at the default 72)?

I'm not concerned about the iPad, only iPhone 3/GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch users.

Note I realize this isn't about code, per se, but it is related to programming in so much as this is necessary for me to finish my iOS application ;)

On the subject of associating your iPhone app with file types.

In this informative question I learned that apps could be associated with custom URL protocols.

That was almost one year ago and since then Apple introduced 'Document Support' which goes a step further and allows apps to associate with file types. There is a lot of talk in the documentation about how to set up your app to launch other appropriate apps when it encounters an unknown file type. This means the association doesn't work out of the box for any app, like the URL protocol registering did.

This leads me to the question: have system apps like Safari or Mail implemented this system for choosing associated applications, or will they do nothing, as before?
