I'm trying to connect to WS Management of a remote Windows IaaS server (Win2012 Server machine). Connection is made from outside of the workgroup and subdomain of the machine. winrm has been enabled and is running on the server Firewall has been turned off completely to rule out possible issues

Error is as follows:

Connecting to remote server xxxxxx.cloudapp.net failed with the following error message : WinRM cannot complete the operation. Verify that the specified computer name is valid, that the computer is accessible over the network, and that a firewall exception for the WinRM service is enabled and allows access from this computer. By default, the WinRM firewall exception for public profiles limits access to remote computers within the same local subnet. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.

Relevant C# code that is trying to access the powershell of the server is as follows. Error occurs on the pool.Open() line. (I've also tried adding "/powershell" to the URI as was shown in some examples):

I've looked and looked and can't figure out how to accept an image (multipart form data) via the ASP.NET Web API and then upload that image most likely as a stream / byte array to a BLOB storage service like Azure (and get it back and return that as an image). I'm most concerned about doing the first part: getting the image and storing it as a BLOB. If you have any code or links you can share, that would be much appreciated!!

So I've got an express site running on Windows Azure. I'm currently having problems submitting forms that are marked as enctype="multipart/form-data".

The error I'm getting in the logs is: TypeError: Object # has no method 'tmpDir'

When running natively (initiated via node.exe) it works absolutely fine, its only when using the AzureEmulator or on Azure itself it fails.

Now I expect this has something to do with Azure's infrastructure, but I'm wondering whether anyone has managed to work around this?

After deploying I'm receiving this error. This probably means that I'm trying to add UserProfile table but it already exists in database. Hovewer, if I completely delete all tables from remote database I'm still getting this error. I tryed enabling option Execute Code First Migrations in settings tab when I publshed application because if it worked on my locally database I tought it will work again, but it doesn't. I'm trying to deploy MVC application, I'm using asp.net membership tables. I don't know if it is important but I moved UserProfile table to my models. I suppose this is common error, but don't know what to do.

2. Each file (video) may be anywhere between 2GB and 16GB. Is there a limit on the size? Do I need to split the file?

We have built a small MVC4 application using Azure Cloud Services. It has been deployed through Visual Studio. Now we are going add a test environment where the application should be tested, before being deployed into production.

I would like to have our CI server to build, test and create a deployable package, This package could then be deployed to any environment, providing correct configurations.

But I have not found a convenient way to do this. It is easy to build a package for a specific environment, with configuration transformations for .config and .cscfg files.

Is having the CI server to build a separate package for each environment the way to go, or have I missed something?

There are ways described how the web.config could be modified when the WebRole is starting, but this feels a bit hacky, and not the way the guys at Microsoft intended when creating Cloud Services.

Using cloud services and the Azure 2.0 SDK, I would like to have my ASP.NET errors get logged to the Azure Diagnostics service.

In Visual Studio, there's a section under Diagnostics Summary called "Windows Azure Application Logs" Also "Event Logs"

When I hit an error, I only see the standard 500 error page, but there is no log anywhere to show it.

I do not want to see the yellow screen of death (since this is a customer facing page)

I'd expect that I could either open one of those Azure Tables or Blobs, and see stack traces for my ASP.NET errors (such as Null Reference Exceptions, Entity Framework errors, etc)

I am trying to do something very simple and getting an error that I have been trying for two days to fix. I have a simple ASP Button calling a function from the codebehind (see below)...and I am receiving the following error. But only when I upload the site to Azure, it runs correctly when emulated.

I have used wrong database name but still i get below exception.

I have developed a simple Cloud Service with one simple WebRole, for testing purposed.
I am using the latest Azure SDK, with Visual Studio 2012.

Everything works as I needed it to,
But when I take a look at the Compute Emulator UI I can see error messages that keep re-appearing every few seconds.

I really have not done anything special, so I can't think of any code snip to post here...

Does anyone have a clue of what is going on?

I installed the latest Azure SDK 2.0 on my development machine, but can't find the "Upgrade" button to upgrade my current project to the latest SDK. Googling how to upgrade show that previous upgrades had an "upgrade" button when going to the Cloud Project -> Properties -> Application Tab and the upgrade button will be next to the Windows Azure Tools Version: October 2012.

Why wouldn't I see the Upgrade button? If I want to manually upgrade my project, what would the process of doing so be?

I have an MVC 4 application on .NET 4.5.I have my application deployed on Azure cloud.

Up until yesterday I would make changed to my application, then check in to TFS, then my application would automatically get deployed on azure. And everything worked just fine.

But today, after I made some changes, the deployment failed with the following error message: "The application pool that you are trying to use has the 'managedRuntimeVersion' property set to 'v4.0'. This application requires 'v4.5'."

In the azure configuration management page I have .NET FRAMEWORK VERSION set to 4.5. Furthermore there is no option for 4.0, only 3.5 or 4.5. So this seems strange.

Any ideas what could cause the problem.

p.s. I only made small changes in my Views, I didn't add any libraries or anything like that.

I am new to Azure, i am trying to connect to a service hosted on a web container(Tomcat 7) on my Azure VM. i have created a keystore there and also i have changed configuration of server.xml adding a connector with proper details.

when i am trying to access it form localhost(from Azure VM, taking remote access) https with self signed certificates works properly but when i am trying to connect from my local machine over the internet i am unable to connect.

PS. i am able to connect to same service hosted on the web container in Azure VM from my local machine, but once i change the connecter element in server.xml, i am unable to connect :(

Today one of my virtual machine instances was in a stopped state at 11am this morning, restarting it just resulted in the same issue. I then deleted the vm and the disk - just not the vhd from the storage account. I then proceeded to create a new vm which was successful. I then attached the existing vhd disk to the new vm and since then the machine went through stage of "updating" which took a few minutes. Since then it is just sitting in a state of "starting" for the last 30 minutes.

Please advise what I can do to recover from this issue.

I have a little console service running on my server that exposes it's endpoint to an azure service bus namespace. I am using webHttpRelayBinding in Streamed mode. I am using the microsoft sample just for testing located here: http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsazure/Relayed-Messaging-Bindings-a6477ba0#content.

I have a console app client running on another computer that connects to my service bus namespace and makes a call to my service interface. I am using the sample call GetImage and in that method all I am doing is returning Stream of a 5MB PDF file.

On the server that is hosting my service I have a 20MB upload/download fiber line. It's wide open and extremely fast. When I open a browser and hit my service as so: https://namespace.servicebus.windows.net/Image/GetImage it pulls the 5MB PDF file correctly however it will only stream the file to me at 90K to 100K per second. I thought at first I was being restricted by upload speeds from the server but with a 20MB fiber up and down that is hard to justify. So I moved the service to my home computer with a measly 750K upload speed. I fired up the service and the relay is hosted. I then had a friend of mine hit the service from his browser at his house to pull the same 5MB PDF file and lo and behold it transfers the file to him at 90K to 100K per second.

I am stumped as to why this is. Can someone please give me insight here? I can show you all the code you need but thought it sufficient to give the description entirely to the problem and reference the microsoft sample I am using.

I'm creating an SQL filter for a cloud service which uses topics/ subscriptions. I declared a property for my brokered message which looks something like this

What is want to achieve is when i send a message to my worker role, the message will contain a randomly generated string. The worker role will treat that string as my ID and create a brokered message, whose "MsgGUID" property will hold the ID. My SQL filter looks like the following :

I'm using nodejs and a mongoDB - and I'm having some connection issues.

Well, actually "wake" issues! It connects perfectly well - is super fast and I'm generally happy with the results.

My problem: If i don't use the connection for a while (i say while, because the timeframe varies 5+ mins) it seems to stall. I don't get disconnection events fired - it just hangs.

Eventually i get a response like Error: failed to connect to [ * .mongolab.com: * ] - ( * = masked values)

A quick restart of the app, and the connection's great again. Sometimes, if i don't restart the app, i can refresh and it reconnects happily.

This is why i think it is "wake" issues.

Rough outline of code:

I've not included the code - I don't think it's needed. It works (apart from the connection dropout)

Things to note: There is just the one "connect" - i never close it. I never reopen.

I have tried various configs here, like opening and closing all the time - I believe though, the general consensus is to do as i am with one open wrapping the lot. ??

I have tried a connection tester, that keeps checking the status of the connection... even though this appears to say everthing's ok - the issue still happens.

I have had this issue from day one. I have always hosted the MongoDB with MongoLab. The problem appears to be worse on localhost. But i still have the issue on Azure and now nodejit.su.

As it happens everywhere - it must be me, MongoDB, or mongolab.

Incidentally i have had a similar experience with the php driver too. (to confirm this is on nodejs though)

It would be great for some help - even if someone just says "this is normal"

I've setup a new worker role and setup a couple of new config transforms for it via SlowCheetah. When I build the project with one of the new configs selected, I do in fact see that configs folder get created underneath the \bin folder as you would expect (for ex. \bin\Production).

When I package a cloud service for deployment using one of the new configs, my web projects get their configs transformed appropriately but my worker role (which is just a library) does not even though I see underneath the \bin folder an updated \bin\production.

It would appear the azure packaging tooling is ignoring the config set for the worker role library. How can I get it to pick the config file from the appropriate the configuration?

But in my case the sysprep fails with the log file %windir%\system32\sysprep\Panther\setuperr.txt saying:

I do not always want to create a new image. Is there any work around? I followed the instructions in MS support here and tried:

It did not work.
