This is a bit hard to describe and I do not know what the "thing" I am asking about is called, however...

If you create a new java class and you extend from composite, then click on the design tab (you may need to close the file and use the Open With GWT Designer), you will notice under the structure window you will see something like com.mycompany.myclass

In the design area you will have a black outline box you can resize. You can then resize this box to whatever dimensions you like and this information is saved somewhere. It is not in your java class file. You can exit eclipse and reload it and it is back to the right size.

My question is, where is this information saved?

I have to make a bunch of forms that have the same size and Id much rather edit some file and put in the exact numbers rather than trying to drag the box to the right dimensions for each one.

I have tried making a base class with the right dimensions, and while this works when you run the application, it does not work in the GWT designer. Each subclass defaults to the original size and I have to drag that size box manually.

I could not install ADOMD.NET in the SQL Server Azure environment. Azure would not let me. I performed all the other steps and began to configure Dashboard Designer Data Source to connect to SSAS. When I couldn't connect I researched and found others in a non-Azure environment that recommended ADOMD.net. What is the Azure solution to allow connectivity between Dashboard Designer and Analysis Services. FYI - I can connect to Analysis Services through Excel 2010 through 80, 2383, and through SharePoint Excel Services.

What does ADOMD do that I need to do in another way or find a way to install it in an Azure environment?

Using SPD 2010 I created an Approval process. I have added few custom field to my task list and now under "Before Task is assigned", the action "Set Task field" is not showing anything on the dropdown-menu that used to have the list of fields in the task.

I removed the fields added, and I also restore from a previous backup, but the list of fields is not been displayed. I have used this action already on the site, and the rules that I set before the problem arisen are working perfectly.

Lastly, after days searching seems like in the entire Internet nobody had have this problem before :( Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am working on a winforms app with a DataGridView control on it, and I am experiencing some frustrating things.

First off, I want to turn off AutoColumnGeneration, but it's not listed in the properties. No problem, I can do that with a line of code...and this is where it gets weird:

1. In my code, the DataGridView is inaccessible. Its like it doesnt exist on the form. Looking into this, its because the designer is declaring it as part of the InitializeComponent() method instead of where it initializes all the other controls.

2. Because its in the designer, any change I make there gets reversed so I can't fix this.

Is there any way to stop visual studio from doing this? I found a hack around it by using one of the datagrid columns (which ARE accessible) to create a reference to the datagridview its associated with and access it that way. It works, but its ugly and not intuitive at all.

I seem to have a sudden issue with my XAML Designer view in VS2012, and a similar behavior in Blend as well. the view has stopped updating and I'm unable to see any changes immediately if I change any properties.

if I scroll or Pan, the Phone chrome seems to move but the content stays put. It gets restored upon slightly adjusting the borders or restarting the page. has anyone else faced this issue? do you know what I need to do? I'm using Visual Studio 2012 Professional (Update 2)

It seems that the designer is trying to change the list of referenced assemblies maybe because of some invalid assemblies. While trying to solve the issue I figured out that changing the "Enable ClickOnce Security" option under Project->Properties->Security can bring the designer back to work. BUT if the option is turned on and I get the designer error turning it off and rebuild all can solve the problem from time to time and VICE VERSA!!!! ... That's why I'm a little lost right now.

Does anyone had this error/problem before and know how to solve it? Any help is appreciated.

I' am new in sharepoint workflow development. I created my workflow in sharepoint designer 2010. My problem is the following: My workflow has a few steps, in every step I use the collect data from user action to get necessary data from user. Its worked two or three day properly but at now when the when this action create a task in tasklist and the user collect the task and press complete task button then my workflow crashed. I write log message after every workflow action and condition and all worked properly except the collect data from user action. After pressing complate task my task status is "in progress but" before,when the workflow worked properly, it was "completed".

I try: I use default form (not custom forms). I removed the collect action and add a new again but the error is same. And this problem was in every collect action in this workflow\list (if i skip the first collect action, then the error occurred in the next collect action).

I also try delete list and workflow and rebuild all. (its worked but after few day error occurred again).

In history list workflow only log this about the error:

P.S my associated list contains about 90 columns (i dont know this is important or not)

Using Visual Foxpro 9, I have a complicated grid (currently on a .scx-based form) which I would like to convert into a class (.vcx, not .prg) so I can re-use the grid on other forms. I really don't want to have to create the grid (and its numerous properties) from scratch if it can be avoided. I was looking for something like copying or dragging the grid from the form-designer to the class-browser, but can't find anything that works for me.

I've read this question, and the only modification i need is to achieve the same, but not at run-time, but at Design-Time. VS WinformsDesigner rewrites my designer.cs file, but for example when i modify a grid's columncollection in design-time from code (for ex. in the BeginInit() method), the values are not generated into the designer file, only when i set those things manually in the property editor windows. If i could declare the basic .net controls's editor to be one of the custom editor I inherited from UITypeEditor, setting the Columns property through my custom editor may trigger the VS designer to regenerate the designer.cs file and include the modifications done from code in design time (done in BeginInit or in custom context menu action)

I have been trying to change the field color for text boxes within certain views. Using cssclass = "bggreen txtwhite" . I haven't been successful with changing the css when inputmode = "readonly".

I have tried using XML, Conditional properties w/sigoptions and correct security.

Changing the label color is no problem. Is it possible to change the background color to the text or is the ReadOnly CSS always prioritized to grey?

I'm trying to make Android app with VS2012+Xamarin. As a WPF programmer, I usually toggle Design/Code with F7/Ctrl+F7 during XAML editing.

However, I cannot find in axml editting. (I use 'Open With...' to call XML editor). I found Xamarin Studio has this button at the bottom left corner of the editor.

Does Xamarin+VS miss this feature? or is there any keyboard shortcut?

Then i have in my generic resource in the default theme:

I have 2 windows instances in my app: windows:NxChromeWindow and the Window.

When running all works OK. I see 2 different styles but when using the designer or blend. something very weird happens:

The designer takes the style of windows:NxChromeWindow and applies it to both the windows:NxChromeWindow and the normal window.

I don't understand how is this possible. How can it apply a subClass style to a base class?I clearly gave the TargetType="{x:Type windows:NxChromeWindow}" so i don't understand how Window get the same style in the designer.

Do you have an idea?

I'm creating a Java Web Applet in NetBeans and I want my final application to have a design called "Metal". I can set it, it's OK. But when I'm editing the GUI using "NetBeans GUI editor", I must work with the typical Windows design. Is it possible to use the "Metal" skin in the editor too? Each design has different sizes of buttons, fonts etc. So I'd love to see the final layout during editing. Not only after compiling.

1. Drag and drop controls
2. Move the controls in the designer to position it
3. Preview mode/Source Mode
4. Property Window for Controls with specific properties
